In the church we hear, "Jesus is coming soon," but do we really believe it, or even act like it. Do we care? We just continue in our sinfulness as if there were no tomorrow and that there will be no consequences of our sin. Even our view of righteousness is watered down to little sins don't count.
We say, "God is love and He understands these little sins." Do we believe that He turns His back and doesn't care anyway? When we mention the Wrath of God, many will say, "My God is a god of love, He is not wrathful," or some will say that God will crush you at the slightest hint of a sin. Either teaching will give us a total misconception of who or what God is like.
II Peter 2:4-9 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world to the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly thereafter; and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day with their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.
God's love is ever so patient and merciful but, we have abused His patience. Would He be a god of love if He continued to let sin grow like a cancer that is spreading until it has touched everyone of us. Our world is so corrupt that we have accepted sin in ourselves and in others. We never like our sins being pointed out to us. God loves us, and is patient but He does demand justice.
Imagine a cup of coffee being poured until it is overflowing the brim. This is exactly what we have done with our sins. Our sins are running over, not only as individuals, but as a nation and even the world. God does deal with our sins. He cannot allow man to go on indefinitely until he destroys both himself and the earth. He has seemed to be silent in the affairs of man until many believe He won't do anything anyway.
The Bible gives a clear account of how God deals with sin. He dealt with the sins of individuals, Korah, Dathan and Abriramin in Numbers 16. He dealt with the sins of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 and He dealt with the sins of the world with a flood that destroyed the earth in Genesis 6 and 7.
Colossians 3: 5-6 Therefore consider the member of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed, which amount to idolatry. For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come.
We are all affected by the sin of this world. God has and will deal with our sin. He loves the sinner, but when there is no hope of redemption then His destruction will come. Man's cup of iniquity is full and running over. In His mercifulness God always warns before He executes His judgment. Noah preached to the world for 120 years of the coming of the flood upon the world yet only eight people were saved. They turned their back on God even in His warnings.
Our own sin has become so bold, we are more concerned with what people think of us than what God does. Do we think He is blind or does not care how we have become. We walk into the church on one day a week and worship Him and the rest of the week we live for the devil. Will He continue to turn His back on this. God hates sin and His judgments will come when man has filled his cup with his sins.
The book of Revelation is the revealing of Jesus and all that He intends to do. God wants His people to be prepared for the things He is bringing upon this world. Each Christian will be fully tested and sealed in his decision. Do you love God or not. Are you willing to live by faith. Do you not know that man will judge himself. Will you take the mark of the beast to survive or follow God. If you follow God you will receive the wrath of the devil and if you follow Satan you will receive the wrath of God.
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. God does not enjoy executing His judgments upon man.
Isaiah 28:21 For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be stirred up as in the valley of Gibeon; to do His task, His unusual task, And to work His work, His extraordinary work.
Jeremiah 16:10-12 Now it will come about while you tell this people all these words that they will say to you, For what reason has the Lord declared this great calamity against us? And what is our iniquity, or what is our sin which we have committed against the Lord our God?" Then you will say to them it is because your forefathers have forsaken Me, declares the Lord, and have followed other gods and served them and bowed down to them; but Me they have forsaken and have not kept My law. You too have done evil, even more than your forefathers; for behold, you are each one walking according to the stubbornness of his own evil heart, without listening to Me.
God has set a limit to man's sin. His final warning will come with the Tribulation. The tribulation consists of 7 seals, 7 trumpets and 7 last plagues. It is man's last chance to be saved. The doors to His mercy will be closed during the 6th seal just as He closed the doors of the ark to mankind. The purpose of the trumpets is to awaken the world to Jesus is coming soon. Get ready, get ready, prepare to meet thy God!
Are you ready for the coming judgments and to meet your Creator? Have we forgotten that we were the created and our purpose was to glorify God. It was the sole purpose of our creation. Our God is love, perfect love. Divine love is the balance between justice and mercy. God loves justice and yet He is merciful. He demands it. We know not if we will awaken tomorrow. We must always stand in readiness to meet our God. To love Him is to become more like Him each day. To know Him we must pray, study His Word and live up to all that He reveals to us. We must learn to hate sin as He does, but to have love for the sinner for we have all sinned.
Our goal should be to overcome the sin in our life. We will not reach that total perfection until Jesus comes, but we can each day ask Him to help us to overcome. The gospel will be FULLY PREACHED during the Tribulation and all false teachings will be exposed. We will hear the gospel as God told it. It was written for the last generation to understand. That understanding is coming in this generation. His prophecies are unfolding before our very eyes. Trust Him, He died for you.
Study His Word! The Tribulation consists of 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 last plagues. The 4th seal is the next to open. The trumpets will begin with this seal and the period following until Jesus arrives in the 6th seal is called, " a time of Wrath". John saw in Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. During the 7 last plagues the door to His mercy will be closed just as the doors were closed on the Ark of Noah when the rain began to fall. There will be no salvation offered here.
We have forgotten that He created this world and all that is in it. We were created to worship and glorify Him. The purpose of the trumpets is to awaken the world to the coming of Jesus, to give each individual a last chance to receive His salvation and to be with Him eternally. Get ready, get ready. Prepare to meet thy God. The gospel will be FULLY PREACHED and all false teachings will be exposed.
Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the world for a witness to all the nations, and the end shall come."
